What is TexTape used for?
TexTape is a double-sided fabric hem tape designed for hemming textile banners, flags, and similar substrates without sewing. The modified acrylic adhesive bonds directly to most textile materials — apply it along the hem fold, fold the fabric over, and press. No sewing machine, no heat press, no specialized equipment required. It is also used for splicing and repairing fabric banner panels.
Does TexTape require heat to activate?
No — TexTape is a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape. No heat is required to activate the bond. Simply peel the release liner and press firmly along the full length of the hem. The modified acrylic adhesive provides an immediate, strong bond to most textile substrates without an iron or heat press.
Which TexTape width should I choose?
The 3/8″ (TEX0925) suits most standard textile banner and flag hem applications. The 3/4″ (TEX1925) provides a wider bonding surface for larger, heavier-duty outdoor textile banners, or any application requiring extra holding strength. When in doubt, test both widths on a scrap of your material before full production.
Will TexTape bond to all textile substrates?
TexTape bonds to most textile substrates. However, some synthetic fabrics with extremely low surface energy or special coatings may reduce bond strength. We recommend testing on a scrap piece of your specific material before full production — particularly for outdoor applications where long-term bond integrity is critical.
